Encycloped-IA : L'Encyclopédie de Diderot et D'Alembert et le distant reading, quelles justifications historiques et numériques ?

Henri Galinon is a Maître de conférences in philosophy at Université Clermont Auvergne and director of the Philosophy department. Specialising in analytic philosophy, logic, and the philosophy of language, his work focuses on linguistic reference — how words refer to things in the world. He is a researcher at the PHIER laboratory and co-organiser of the "AI for Humanities" days at the MSH Clermont.

Aurélia Vasile is a research engineer in data processing and analysis at the CNRS, Maison des Sciences Humaines de Clermont-Ferrand. Holding a doctorate in contemporary history (University of Dijon / University of Bucharest, 2011), she participates in the EncyclopedIA project, which explores Diderot and D'Alembert's Encyclopédie using AI tools adapted for large text collections.

Naïs Sabatier is a contracted doctoral student in philosophy at the PHIER laboratory (Philosophies and Rationalities), Université Clermont Auvergne. Her thesis, co-supervised by Vincent Gérard (UCA) and Florent Guénard (UPEC), examines economics in Diderot and D'Alembert's Encyclopédie. She co-organises the EncyclopedIA project on the use of large language models (LLMs) for encyclopaedic corpus analysis.
